After an offseason filled with drama and uncertainty, the last thing NBA fans expected from the Philadelphia 76ers was that they’d thrive during the 2023-24 NBA regular season and become a force to be reckoned with in the post-James Harden era.
Even though the 76ers were a talented team without Harden, he was thought to be the missing piece to the championship puzzle for Philadelphia, as he took some pressure off fellow superstar Joel Embiid.
Fortunately for Philadelphia, trading Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers has been a blessing in disguise for the 76ers, as this team has played exceptionally well to start the season while proving they might be a legitimate title contender in the Eastern Conference.
As part of the trade with the Clippers, Los Angeles sent veteran forward Marcus Morris Sr. to Philadelphia, which gave the team some much-needed depth and shooting.
In his short time with the 76ers, Embiid has made a massive impact on the veteran journeyman, as he claims that the superstar center is the best player he’s ever played with in the NBA, via NBACentral.

That’s quite a statement from a veteran player who has played with a lot of different stars during his time in the league, especially after only a short period of time in Philadelphia.
In 17 games played this season, Embiid is averaging 33.1 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game, shooting 51.1% from the floor and 32.1% from beyond the arc.
Embiid hasn’t missed a beat after his first MVP season and could very well be in the running for the regular-season award again if he can keep up this kind of production while leading his team to wins on a nightly basis.
