During his 12 years in the NBA, Reggie Jackson has played for multiple teams and with many superstars.
But now that he’s with the Denver Nuggets, Jackson is playing with someone who he feels is the best player alive.
Speaking to Mark Medina, Jackson laid it out plainly:
“I was reluctant to say it before, even though I knew it. But now that I’m his teammate and I see him on a daily basis, he’s the best player in the world.”
Jackson said that his reluctance to call Jokic the best came from the fact that the way he “dominates the game is not necessarily what we’re traditionally used to when we think of someone being dominant.”
But he has come around to the idea of Jokic being the greatest NBA star alive.

Jackson noted a few things that make Jokic so great: his “basketball acumen, his intelligence, his will and his want to win.”
He also said that Jokic makes the people around him even better and watches the game unfold in his mind before things happen.
This is high praise from Jackson and it sums up what makes Jokic so special.
Jackson is right: Jokic plays in ways that many other stars and fans aren’t particularly used to.
He doesn’t move like other NBA greats, he isn’t built like many All-Stars, and he doesn’t seem as emotionally invested in the game.
To some, Jokic even comes across as passive about the game and often seems like he would rather be doing something else.
But there is no doubt he has a strong desire to win, despite his outward personality.
He might not act like many NBA icons that came before him but Jokic has cemented a place for himself in league history and he might be on his way to another championship this season.
His accomplishments in the league say it all.
