Chris Broussard Sends A Clear Message To Patrick Mahomes

The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs aren’t the same dominant force we’ve seen since superstar Patrick Mahomes took over for Alex Smith.

Mahomes and company were once the cream of the crop in the NFL without any debate, as they could get it done offensively while also doing enough defensively to keep opponents at bay.

However, those days might be over or this season might not be their year, with receivers unable to catch passes consistently and the team struggling on offense for the first time in a long time.

After falling to the rival Buffalo Bills in Week 14, the Chiefs have lost four out of their last six games and are starting to look like a team that is beatable only a few weeks ahead of the NFL playoffs, which is terrible timing, to say the least.

Mahomes was visibly angry after the loss to the Bills on Sunday, but Chris Broussard of FOX Sports thinks that anger should be directed at his receivers because they have cost the team dearly recently, via “First Things First.”

“Patrick Mahomes needs to show the anger and frustration that he showed yesterday to his wide receivers this week. … They’ve cost the Chiefs two games.”

Kadarius Toney and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are the receivers that have cost the Chiefs this season, with the most recent loss being on Toney for being offsides, as Broussard pointed out.

As for Valdes-Scantling, the 29-year-old hasn’t lived up to expectations, as he’s been virtually non-existent on the field when Mahomes has needed him the most.

Only time will tell if the Chiefs and their receivers can turn things around, but as of right now, this team could be headed toward a disappointing end to the 2023 campaign.
