Over the course of the 2023 NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs have been considered legitimate Super Bowl title contenders, even though the team has uncharacteristically struggled offensively.
Patrick Mahomes and company do not seem like the same AFC heavyweight of old, with the team struggling to put away opponents with ease as they normally have done during the Andy Reid era.
After suffering their fourth loss in six games, some are starting to wonder if this Chiefs team has what it takes to go the distance again this year, with the receiving corps severely lacking and the team not being the dominant force everyone is used to it being with Mahomes under center.
Even though the Chiefs are going through the worst part of their season thus far, Nick Wright of FOX Sports claims he’s not panicking about the defending Super Bowl champions just yet, via “First Things First.”

At this point in time, the Baltimore Ravens are the cream of the crop in the AFC, with Lamar Jackson and company proving they can win consistently on a weekly basis while being a force on both sides of the football.
However, Wright somehow believes the Chiefs are still in the running here, even though their receiving corps is completely undependable, and Mahomes appears to be losing his cool on the football field too often.
There’s no doubt that Kansas City can’t be counted out at this point, as they are still a good football team with a winning culture, but this could be where things start to change for the Chiefs.
