The Miami Dolphins entered Monday Night Football with the expectation that they would beat the Tennessee Titans.
They were on a roll heading into this game, and both sides of the ball seemed to be firing on all cylinders.
However, they couldn’t get the job done through a combination of injuries and other unfortunate circumstances.
In a postgame press conference shared via journalist Joe Schad, Mike McDaniel identified the team’s biggest problem.
In this game, McDaniel pointed to the red zone as the Dolphins’ kryptonite.
Mike McDaniel: The number one reason we didn’t win the game was red zone. We lost a lot of points down there. We did out of character things to almost find a way to lose the game. pic.twitter.com/GiUsY4RoxO

The Dolphins had to settle for two field goals in this game, a 31-yarder and a 20-yarder.
This is not the expected result for one of the league’s best offenses, especially as the season is winding down.
With any luck, this is just a speed bump for the Dolphins for the rest of the year.
They can still find themselves with the AFC’s best record and secure a first-round bye.
However, this loss made their road a bit tougher.
They do face off against the Baltimore Ravens in three weeks, which could be a game that decides the fate of both teams.
The Ravens are currently the best team in the AFC, and if they win out, they will secure the conference’s one seed.
If the Dolphins can figure things out moving forward, particularly in the red zone, they should continue to see the success they have encountered throughout the year.
Of course, that assumes that their players stay healthy, especially Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, who got injured in this game.
