The New York Giants may have found their quarterback for the future.
They sure hoped so when they signed Daniel Jones to that huge contract extension, but that wasn’t the case.
Now, Jones and Tyrod Taylor’s injuries could be a bit of a blessing in disguise for the organization, as undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito is actually playing very well.
The Giants are riding a three-game winning streak, and DeVito has had plenty to do with that.
That’s why NFL analyst Peter Schrager asked former GM Scott Pioli whether he thought that the Giants could actually consider keeping DeVito as their quarterback for the future (via Good Morning Football).
Should the Giants consider @tommydevito007 as their QB of the future?

Unsurprisingly, Pioli argued that the G-Men could, indeed, consider it, talking about how much progress he’s made over the past month or so.
Beyond the wins, Pioli pointed out that the game has slowed down for DeVito, lauding his awareness in the pocket and his improved decision-making.
DeVito hasn’t turned the ball over in his past three games, and you can tell that he just feels more comfortable and poised every time he sets foot on the field.
Brian Daboll knows one thing or two about developing quarterbacks, and he seems to be quite high on DeVito.
If they really like what they see, it would be a no-brainer to retain him for at least one more season and see what they have on their hands with him and then go from there.
