The San Antonio Spurs are going through one of the worst moments in franchise history.

Gregg Popovich’s team has dropped 17 games in a row.

Some have been close, some not so much.

Whatever the case, they continue to shoot themselves in the foot and fall short when it matters the most.

Nonetheless, star rookie Victor Wembanyama isn’t letting any of that get into his head.

When asked about this losing skid, the reigning No. 1 pick talked about how everybody is still confident in their ability to bounce back and learn from this and become a winning team in the future (via Casey Viera).

“The good thing is nobody doubts that in the long run we’re gonna be the winners,” Wembanyama said.

Wembanayma has been a professional for years now, and he handles himself as such.

He’s been unbothered by the criticism, mostly because he knew this was going to be a process full of growing pains.

It takes patience to build a winning team, and the Spurs will never rush the process.

Needless to say, they would much rather be winning games and developing winning habits, but they know this losing streak could also help them secure another star prospect to pair alongside Wembanyama for years to come.

Nobody likes to lose, but at least they’re getting to learn through their mistakes in real-game situations.

The Spurs will also have plenty of cap space next season, so they can make a run at veteran free agents to round out the roster and get much better.

For now, all they can do is wait, be patient, and continue to learn from every loss.
