Bronny James’ college debut had been one of the biggest storylines over the past few weeks.
Considering Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this year, there was a genuine doubt about the future of his basketball career.
However, James made a full recovery and recently donned the USC Trojans’ jersey for the first time in his career.
While James had a forgettable debut game, draft expert Jonathan Givony still had great observations about the 19-year-old via NBACentral on Twitter.
“James’ ability to get over screens, contain opponents one-on-one, and cover ground seamlessly for steals and chasedown blocks stood out in his limited time on the floor,” Jonathan Givony said.

While most want Bronny to follow in the footsteps of his father, LeBron James, there is a real possibility that Bronny may never reach that level.
For starters, Bronny is a guard, and his biggest strengths have been defined as shooting and defense.
Givony believes that the USC freshman has already established himself as the Trojans’ best defender.
Considering there is never a shortage of demand for guards who can shoot and defend the basketball, Bronny will have a shot at becoming a regular in the team’s rotation over the course of the year.
On top of that, if he declares for the 2024 NBA Draft, Bronny could make an instant impact with his defense for any team in the league.
In his debut game for the Trojans, Bronny was given 17 minutes of playing time.
But James had an underwhelming game, where he put up just 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.
However, on a positive note, Bronny did have 2 steals and a block to his name as well.
