The Golden State Warriors needed Draymond Green on the court to beat the Phoenix Suns, yet, again, he got himself ejected.

That’s Green’s third ejection of the young season, and he might even serve a suspension.

That’s why Bill Simmons believes that, even though he’s still physically the same player, he’s just not as mentally strong as he once was.

Talking to former NBA coach Doc Rivers, Simmons criticized Green for not being able to keep his cool anymore, stating that he’s always inches away from making a ‘dumb’ or erratic decision (via The Ringer).

“Draymond is still Draymond.”

Truth be told, that’s exactly the case.

Green’s impact on the court goes beyond measure, and there’s no doubt that he’s still physically capable of guarding one through five and being one of the best defenders in the game.

Then again, it seems like he’s so eager to prove that he’s tough that he’s letting his ego and character get in the way of his actual game.

Simply put, Green would’ve never had a long career in the NBA if he had been this erratic before he earned his stripes, so why act that way now?

He’s one of the most important players for the Warriors’ championship core, and they simply cannot afford to have him sitting out games with suspensions or ejections.

Green is a seasoned veteran who needs to do better.

He knows the league always looks to make an example out of him, and he needs to stop putting himself in that position.
