Despite having a 10-3 record, the Philadelphia Eagles are far from a perfect team.

Their offense seems to be clicking at a high level, but their defense has let them down in recent weeks.

Defensive coordinator Sean Desai was recently asked about his concerns about the team’s defense.

According to Desai via ProFootballTalk: “We have not been able to get off the field when we need to get off the field.”

He also noted: “Yeah, in third down and situational football, we got to be better, third down, red zone,” calling those areas “our bugaboos.”

The Eagles have struggled on third down and in the red zone despite having talented players on their defense.

The article from ProFootballTalk highlights that the Eagles defense has only converted on 48.1% of their third-down opportunities.

Desai hopes they can figure this out quickly en route to more efficient games in the future.

With an upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks, who will potentially be without Geno Smith, this could be an opportunity for the Eagles defense to get back on the right track.

Otherwise, they could limp into the postseason, making things more difficult for this team’s path back to the NFC Championship.

With the race for the NFC’s No. 1 seed still up for grabs, the Eagles still have an opportunity to go and take it while working on their defensive prowess.
