The San Antonio Spurs had an 18-game losing streak before they finally snapped it against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Spurs put on a spirited performance against the Lakers who were incredibly shorthanded, though the former will take a victory any way they can get it.
San Antonio still sits at the bottom of the Western Conference and is well on their way to another high draft pick, but the 2023-23 NBA season is all about developing Victor Wembayama and the rest of the supporting cast.
Wembanyama has been better than advertised and although he has some clear holes in his game, he definitely has the look of a franchise cornerstone for a Spurs team that’s been fortunate to have generational big men come through the organization.
Although San Antonio is years away from competing, they still need to be prudent about finding talent to surround Wembanyama with.
With that in mind, it appears that the Spurs are looking to pair him with Bol Bol of the Phoenix Suns via Sam Amico of Hoopwire.com
Amico’s report of San Antonio’s interest in Bol Bol is interesting given that he’s currently out of the Suns’ rotation.

Bol’s size and fluidity has always made him an interesting prospect, but the former Oregon Dunk has yet to put it all together at the NBA level.
However, the Spurs might feel like there’s still some untapped upside with Bol and he might do better in a situation where he can get real minutes on the floor.
Bol is the kind of flier San Antonio should be taking and it’ll be interesting to see if they do end up trading for him.
