After a surprising upset win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14, the New England Patriots hosted the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15.
The Patriots entered the afternoon as massive underdogs, but actually had a competitive effort against the Chiefs and gave them a scare in the first half.
New England kept pace with Kansas City through the first two quarters, but let go of the rope in the third as as they allowed them to score 13 points compared to none for themselves.
However, it was a valiant showing for the Patriots who are better off tanking down the stretch in order to improve their positioning in the highly-touted 2024 NFL Draft.
Head coach Bill Belichick could very well be staring at the final slate of games he’ll preside over in New England as reports swirl that team owner Robert Kraft will let him go at the end of the year.
Belichick might know this as well, which is why he went out of his way to show respect to Travis Kelce at the end of the game via NFL.

Belichick has been highly complimentary of Kelce in the past, and the two can be seen walking together and dapping each other up on the field.
Kelce is the class of the tight end position in the league and Belichick has never been shy about appreciating greatness when he sees it.
It’s a cool moment for fans to see two of the greatest ever pay respect to each other, though Patriots fans have to wonder whether or not Belichick’s time as head coach is coming to an end.
