There is no doubt that Victor Wembayama is one of the most talented rookies in recent NBA history.
Despite his massive size and length, Wembanyama can still play like players who are much smaller than him.
Speaking on “Run It Back,” Shams Charania spoke about what head coach Gregg Popovich is planning for Wembanyama.
“I’m told the Spurs’ visions for Victor Wembanyama is he can play 1-5, any given night, any given moment, at any given play,” Charania said.
He added: “We’ve never seen anyone 7-foot-5 that can put the ball on the floor the way he can at that size.”
Popovich and the coaching staff are particularly impressed by Wembanyama’s ability to bring the ball up the court after a rebound and they hope to see more of him doing that in the future.

Wembanyama is averaging 19 points and 11 rebounds during his rookie season, earning a double-double nearly every single night.
The Spurs are in very bad shape, which isn’t surprising, but the young French star is still playing at an amazing level.
When he was first entering the league, Wembanyama blew people away because of his incredible size matched with his ability to not only grab rebounds but also shoot well.
He is over 7-feet tall but can still move and shoot like a point guard.
The Spurs still have a long way to go before they are playoff contenders again but it’s very clear that Wembanyama will be at the center of any plans they have.
Guard, forward, center – Wembanyama has a chance to play each of those positions in the future.
The Spurs know that his versatility is Wembanyama’s biggest asset.
