The NBA season is off to a quick start.
After putting on the league’s first In-Season Tournament, the NBA seems to have a lot of traction and fan interaction.
This increased fan support has caused several teams to emerge as contenders, especially in the Eastern Conference.
Seven teams in the East have a record of 15-12 or better, including the New York Knicks.
The Knicks haven’t been able to make a significant playoff run in several years, but most of their fans believe this is their year.
While he agreed that the Knicks are a good team, in a recent segment of NBA Today on ESPN, Brian Windhorst outlined what the team needs to do to take another step forward.
Windhorst thinks the Knicks should “trade for a superstar player” to help their chances in the East.

Windhorst pointed to the team’s current system and said that the Knicks do a fine job implementing the course that is laid out for them.
However, given the current injuries that have plagued the team, trading for another player could bring this team over the top.
Windhorst believes the Knicks’ defense can hold up against most teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers.
A dominant defense can only take a team so far in today’s NBA.
They must respond to their great defense with a solid offensive output, which isn’t necessarily in this team’s DNA.
It will be interesting to see what the Knicks do down the stretch and if they decide to go all-in with a big midseason trade.
