The start of the 2023-2024 NBA Season has yielded many surprising results.

Several teams are underperforming, while others have risen above what many thought they could do.

The Indiana Pacers have come out of the woodwork this season, making it to the In-Season Tournament final and being a top-ten team in the Eastern Conference.

While they have been successful, causing NBA fans to be excited about what this team has done, the Pacers have been shrouded in negativity for the past week.

After Giannis Antetokounmpo beat the Milwaukee Bucks’ franchise record for points in a game, he wanted the game ball to commemorate this event.

However, there was a scuffle over this ball, as it appeared that the Pacers had taken it, trying to give it to one of their rookies.

This caused quite a scene at the time, and many fans criticized the Pacers for not giving Antetokounmpo this keepsake.

Amid the controversy, Tyrese Haliburton recently appeared on the Dan Patrick Show, saying, “Just to clarify, we did not have the game ball, just so everyone’s aware.”

Haliburton is one of the main reasons for the Pacers’ success.

He has become a fan favorite across the league, especially within the Pacers fanbase.

While he might just be saying this to save face, Halburton did appear genuine in expressing that his team does not possess this ball.

This was the first time that a Pacers player has addressed the incident since it happened.

Antetokounmpo remained adamant that the Pacers stole this ball and that the ball he currently has is not legitimate.

It will be interesting to see if he changes his tune after hearing Haliburton’s side of the story.
