With the Kansas City Chiefs looking to get some late-season momentum and the No. 1 seed still up for grabs, the front office needed to find some hidden gems.

The Chiefs have struggled with subpar WR play all season long, so it only made sense that they kept looking for answers to their prayers.

Now, according to Aaron Wilson, they’ve signed both WR Anthony Miller and TE Izaiah Gathings, perhaps hoping they could make an immediate impact.

Gathings and fellow TE E.J. Jenkins attended a workout early on Tuesday, which made sense, as Gerrit Prince was demoted to the practice squad, and they could be in need of more depth in the position.

Also, Gathings had already spent time with the team this season, being waived before the start of the regular season.

As for Miller, that’s a little more interesting.

He was a star at Memphis and had a promising rookie season with the Chicago Bears, hauling in 423 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2018.

He spent three years in the Windy City before some brief and failed stints with the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers, and San Francisco 49ers.

Also, he had been a part of the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad, but he was waived earlier in the season.

The former 51st pick of the draft hasn’t played in an actual game since November 2021, so this could be a bit of a desperate move by GM Brett Veach.

Then again, he’s still young, and it’s not like the team could do much worse at the position right now.
