After seemingly having a potential career resurgence with the Brooklyn Nets, three-time NBA All-Star Ben Simmons saw his injury issues come back to haunt him, as he hasn’t played a game for his team since early November.

Even though things appeared to be trending in the right direction for Simmons before he went down with a nerve issue in his back, it seems like more of the same from this once-versatile superstar guard, who has been a disappointment thus far for the Nets.

It appears that the Nets will have to wait a little longer for the veteran to get back on the floor, as he is still a few weeks away from even getting his nerve issue re-evaluated.

According to Ian Begley of SNY, Simmons will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Even with key players sidelined with injuries, Brooklyn has been able to hold its own over the course of the first couple of months of the 2023-24 NBA season, as they are currently sitting at 13-13 on the season, which has the team in ninth place in the Eastern Conference ahead of the Toronto Raptors.

When the Nets get Simmons, Lonnie Walker IV and Dennis Smith Jr. back on the floor, the team will get a considerable boost in the backcourt on both ends of the floor and might be able to make a push up the standings in hopes of securing a higher seed in the East when the NBA playoffs roll around.
