Derrick White was a huge part of the Boston Celtics’ win on Wednesday night, scoring 28 points and 7 assists as Boston took down the Sacramento Kings.

This wasn’t the first time that White had turned heads and gained a lot of attention.

Following the game, head coach Joe Mazzulla joined the chorus of people calling on White to be an NBA All-Star, according to Jared Weiss.

On Wednesday, White was 10-of-13 from the floor and also gained four important blocks.

White has tied his career-high for points twice in the month of December and almost came close with his 28 against the Kings.

So far this season, White has averaged 16.5 points, 5.1 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks.

For years, White has mostly been known for his defensive work and earned a spot on the 2022-23 All-Defensive team.

During the summer, White was promoted to a starting player when Marcus Smart was sent to the Memphis Grizzlies.

That has led to a lot better work on the offensive end of the floor and now White is very consistent no matter how he is playing or who he is playing against.

White will have a lot of competition to make the All-Star team, as the Eastern Conference is filled with a ton of tough guards like Damian Lillard, Trae Young, Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Haliburton, and others.

But White has the support of his coach and other members of his team.

More important than any All-Star appearance is the continued success of the Celtics.

White is going to be trying his hardest to help his team keep winning.
