There was a time when it seemed like Jordan Poole would be the future of the Golden State Warriors.

But a lot of things changed in a relatively short amount of time and Poole was traded to the Washington Wizards, where he still plays.

However, talking to The Athletic, Poole claimed that he still values the time he spent in the Bay Area.

“Learned a lot. Can’t ask for too much more than that. Won a championship,” Poole said, according to NBACentral.

He continued: “Played with Loon. Played with some of the greatest ever. Played with (Andrew Wiggins). Met great guys. The staff is good. It was a cool experience.”

Although he is saying all the right things, some fans might question if he really means it.

The split between the Warriors and Poole was one of the most surprising moves of the latest offseason.

During his first three seasons with Golden State, Poole posted 13.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists.

He was a rising star on the team, especially when they were without Klay Thompson, and the future looked bright for him.

2022-23 saw Poole hit a number of speed bumps.

It all started with an offseason incident with Draymond Green which had some people questioning Poole’s personality and chemistry with the team.

Then Poole’s numbers dipped in the playoffs and he only scored 10.3 points per game.

Even though he had recently signed a new deal with the Warriors, they traded him off to the Wizards and moved on without him.

Poole has averaged 17.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game during his time with the Wizards, who are the second-worst team in the East.

Poole is looking ahead and planning great things for himself but he says he fondly remembers his tenure with the Warriors.
