The New York Giants couldn’t beat the Philadelphia Eagles even once last season.

And with two dates with their divisional rival left on the schedule to close out the season, Nick Sirianni’s team has to love their chances to beat them again.

That’s why Giants RB Saquon Barkley recently admitted that these two upcoming matchups mean more this time, as being swept by them last season was a bit of a gut punch that didn’t sit well with any of them (via Kevin Patra and Dov Kleiman).

“I don’t think that sits well in anybody’s stomach.”

Barkley claims that he’s done with people asking him what it would feel like to beat the Eagles, and it’s about time they find out on their own.

Notably, the Giants are peaking at the end of the season, with undrafted rookie QB Tommy DeVito doing a much better job in charge of the offense than Daniel Jones, not to mention the fact that their defense has also stepped up big time.

The Eagles, on the other hand, will be extra motivated to secure these wins, but they’re fresh off dropping three straight contests as well.

The Eagles desperately need to get some momentum and get back on track to turn the narrative around, and divisional rivalry games are always a bit of a toss-up, regardless of whether one team is significantly better than the other.

So, Barkley will have the perfect opportunity to play spoiler and put his divisional foes on notice, and he’s not the kind of player you want to mess with.
