With the start of the NFL playoffs right around the corner with only two regular-season games left for teams around the league after this holiday weekend, the rumors are starting to swirl about which head coaches will get fired once the season is officially over for those teams that won’t make the postseason.

So far, three head coaches in the NFL have been fired, with the Las Vegas Raiders parting ways with Josh McDaniels, followed by the Carolina Panthers firing Frank Reich and the Los Angeles Chargers most recently kicking Brandon Staley to the curb.

Along with these three, who are already unemployed well before the end of the season, many more are expected to be shown the door once the 2023 NFL regular season comes to an end in a few weeks.

According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers is currently a hot commodity in the league, and he expects there to be as many as nine head coaching jobs available once the dust settles via FOX Sports: NFL.

Obviously, Tomlin’s status will be something that every team looking for a new head coach will be monitoring, as Glazer made clear, but if he stays in Pittsburgh, it’ll be interesting to see what direction those teams with an opening at the position decide to do.

Another prominent head coach who has been rumored to be on his way out is Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots, who will likely also be a hot commodity if he’s available on the open market.
