The Los Angeles Lakers feel that they have a lot of talented players but they’re simply not working together as the front office had hoped.

Because of that, the team might make some changes in the near future to bolster its roster.

Speaking on Run It Back, Shams Charania again mentioned that the Lakers could be in the running to land Zach LaVine, currently of the Chicago Bulls.

But he also said that the Lakers could covet another player: Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks.

“One more player to keep an eye on I’m told, a potential target for the Lakers, Hawks guard Dejounte Murray,” Charania said.

Charania said that Murray’s current contract with the Hawks would be more attractive to LA than the one that LaVine carries.

Additionally, they could easily see how he could fit into the rotation.

Speaking of that rotation, head coach Darvin Ham has been tinkering with it lately and it hasn’t produced the sort of results desired.

On Christmas Day, the Lakers were taken down by the Boston Celtics at home with the starting lineup of Taurean Prince, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Cam Reddish.

At this point in the season, the Lakers would love to have a group of players they could count on for every game.

Could Murray give them that?

The 27-year-old guard is averaging 20.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game on 46% from the field.

When he moved to the Hawks a couple of years ago, Atlanta saw him as a key component of a possible championship run.

But they are still struggling to break through in the East and would listen closely to what the Lakers have to offer.
