The 2023-24 Detroit Pistons are riding the worst losing streak in NBA history (27 games).
Their schedule doesn’t get much better until January 10th, when they meet the San Antonio Spurs, so there’s a big chance they could keep piling up losses until then.
With that in mind, NBA veteran Dwight Howard pitched himself to the team, stating that they could use some veteran leaders and even naming some veteran free agents that could help this team.
Howard stated that they could use Isaiah Thomas, John Wall, Michael Beasley, DeMarcus Cousins, and himself.
You know who would win them some games lol …IT, John Wall, Michael Beasley, Demarcus, Me

Then, he claimed that Kemba Walker, Lance Stephenson, Blake Griffin, and Tacko Fall could come off the bench.
Truth be told, some of those guys such as Wall, Cousins, and Howard could still have something left in the tank and give them some positive minutes off the bench.
Of course, none of them are long-term bets, so having them taking touches away from the young players might not be in their best interests right now.
Then again, Howard does have a valid point in the sense that all NBA teams need veterans.
They need guys who can mentor young players and take them under their wing, guys who will hold everybody accountable and lead by example, guys who can teach them the ropes of what being an NBA player is actually like.
Howard has been a distraction way too often, which is why he could still be out of the league, but from a basketball standpoint, he should be on a roster.
