The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t been able to find much consistency this season, alternating big wins with head-scratching losses.

Coach Darvin Ham has been a bystander and VIP spectator from time to time, and he hasn’t even found a steady starting lineup yet after several failed tries.

However, the Lakers have shown glimpses of being a dominant team, just like they did vs. the Charlotte Hornets.

They dominated from start to finish en route to a 133-112 win, setting several marks in the meantime.

According to Opta Stats, the Lakers are the first team to score 130 points or more, dish out at least 40 assists, make 15 or more three-pointers, and go perfect from the free-throw line all in the same game.

The @Lakers are the first team in NBA history to…

– score 130+ points
– dish out 40+ assists
– make 15+ threes
– shoot 100% from the line

…all in the same game.

The Lakers scored 133 points, dished 41 assists, knocked down exactly 15 three-pointers, and went 14-of-14 from the charity stripe in the win, outplaying their opponent on both ends of the floor and looking like a championship contender.

Granted that the Hornets are struggling and not the kind of team you want to measure yourself against, but it was still a huge victory for Ham’s team.

The Lakers are now sitting on a 17-15 record, and with all the talking about not being good enough or healthy enough by LeBron James, one can only expect GM Rob Pelinka to put in some overtime work to try and revamp the roster again with multiple trades.

As of now, it just doesn’t seem like they’re good enough to keep up with the other powerhouses from the Western Conference.
