Dwight Howard is undeniably one of the greatest centers in NBA history.
A multi-time Defensive Player of the Year, All-Star, former NBA champion, and the most dominant rebounder and shot-blocker of his generation.
It’s even more strange to see that despite multiple teams being in clear need of more depth at the center spot, he can’t seem to get a job in the NBA.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the former Orlando Magic star has signed a deal to continue his playing career in the Philippines.
Needless to say, this drew plenty of mockery and reactions on social media.

Howard had been playing in Taiwan as he continued to pursue an opportunity to get back in the NBA, and he recently stated that he wasn’t going to retire until he got a chance to play in the league’s In-Season Tournament.
Howard has pitched himself to multiple teams over the past couple of weeks, including the Detroit Pistons, who lost a league-worst 28 games in a row.
Of course, Howard is no longer the physical force he used to be, and he did burn a lot of bridges during his playing days.
But he’s still in great shape, and with multiple teams needing veterans and depth, he should at least be considered for a job.
Hopefully, he’ll get another chance to play at the highest level before walking away from the game.
