There have been several storylines that have taken over the NFL throughout the 2023 season.
One storyline surrounds head coaches, as several coaches have either been fired or are on the hot seat.
Brandon Staley was one of the coaches to be fired mid-season, leaving the Los Angeles Chargers stuck with an interim.
Several analysts and fans have tried to predict their next coach, including Stephen A. Smith, who recently gave his input.
Smith pledged his support for Jim Harbaugh, saying, “If he wins a national championship, go ahead and take the Chargers job.”

Harbaugh has faced plenty of scrutiny throughout the season and was suspended at one point due to a recruiting violation.
He might be on his way out of college football, which could pave a path for him to take an NFL job.
In Smith’s mind, looking at the Chargers as a potential option makes sense.
The Chargers are considered an ideal destination for Smith, given that Justin Herbert is their quarterback.
Herbert has been identified as the franchise star, someone who will hopefully lead them down a path of success for the foreseeable future.
With this in mind, the Chargers are an excellent destination for Harbaugh.
He could help further Herbert’s career, which would likely help him succeed in his first year back in the NFL.
Besides hopefully helping the Chargers in the win column, Smith believes Harbaugh would “incentivize” fans to watch this team.
He doesn’t think they are watchable at the moment, but they could get a lot more interesting with Harbaugh at the helm.
