In the 2022-23 season, the Los Angeles Lakers decided to give the job to rookie head coach Darvin Ham rather than an experienced coach after moving on from Frank Vogel.
While Ham did help the Lakers in reaching the Western Conference Finals in the 2023 playoffs, many believed it was due to sheer luck.
Darvin Ham’s doubters are getting proven right after seeing the Lakers struggle in the 2023-24 NBA season under the leadership of the sophomore head coach.
The 17-time NBA champions recently suffered another disappointing 113-127 defeat against the Memphis Grizzlies, and the fans are understandably frustrated.
Despite the team’s fourth consecutive loss, Ham sent a message to the fanbase via Michael Corvo on Twitter.
“I’m tired of people living and dying with every game we play. We gotta keep the fight,” Ham said.

Darvin Ham didn’t have a long message for the fanbase, but he simply urged the fans to trust in the process.
Ham pointed out that the regular season is a marathon.
In simple terms, Ham wants the fanbase to believe in him and only lose hope in the team once the regular season is over.
However, can fans really be blamed for doubting Darvin Ham’s coaching this season?
The Los Angeles Lakers have the dynamic duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis averaging excellent numbers throughout the season, and the supporting cast isn’t playing terribly.
Despite that, the Lakers are currently the 11th seed in the Western Conference with an underwhelming 17-19 record.
Will Darvin Ham stay on the team long enough to see the Lakers turn around their season?
