The Baltimore Ravens keep making moves and getting scarier.

Shortly after adding a former Pro Bowl running back in Dalvin Cook, the team decided to lock up one of their key defenders for the future.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, they just signed defensive tackle Michael Pierce to a two-year contract extension worth $7.5 million.

The Ravens and starting DT Michael Pierce have agreed to a 2-year, $7.5M contract extension through the 2025 season, per source.

The 31-year old has 37 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a pair of fumble recoveries this season.

Despite him being 31 years old already, this is a huge bargain, considering his impact and value for the team.

This season alone, Pierce has logged one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, one sack, and 36 tackles.

On top of that, he was one of three defensive tackles on their roster who were ready to become unrestricted free agents at the end of the season.

Securing Pierce was a major win for the front office.

Brent Urban could also find himself in new threads next season, and that could be a massive blow for one of the most physical defensive units in the NFL.

The Ravens have been the best team in the league this season, both record-wise and on the field.

Leaving a winning team is never an easy call to make, but at the end of the day, this is a business, and whoever has the bigger paycheck often gets the player.
