When the Los Angeles Lakers hired Darvin Ham as the head coach ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season, many expected the rookie coach to take some time to settle into the team.
Despite the team’s fair share of struggles last season, the Lakers still ended up reaching the Western Conference Finals.
As a result, most expected Ham to turn the team around in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Instead, Ham’s strategy is simply not working for the Lakers, and it has slowly but surely built a lot of pressure in the locker room.
So much so, that as per NBA insider Jake Fischer, many agents of Lakers players are frustrated that their clients aren’t getting enough opportunities with the team, as revealed via NBACentral on Twitter.
“Several agents have been calling the Lakers’ front office to express their frustration about their clients not getting the right opportunities,” the report mentioned.

As mentioned in the tweet, the agents are even calling the Lakers front office to express the frustration of their clients with the lack of opportunities under Darvin Ham’s coaching.
Although no specific name was mentioned in the tweet, many assume that the likes of Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell could be the aforementioned players.
Apart from that, recent reports have suggested that the Lakers could very well fire Darvin Ham before the conclusion of the 2023-24 NBA season.
The 17-time NBA champions are currently the 11th seed in the Western Conference, with a 17-19 record.
It’s more than obvious that Ham has already lost control of the Lakers locker room and it’s only a matter of time before changes are made.
