The Miami Dolphins lost the AFC East title in Week 18 after a loss to the Buffalo Bills and will now have to travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round.
Normally this would be a fear-inducing moment, as Patrick Mahomes has been one of the best playoff quarterbacks in recent memory – especially at Arrowhead Stadium.
But the Chiefs haven’t looked the same this year as they used to and are very much vulnerable, even at home.
So while the matchup will be tough for the Dolphins, Fox Sports analyst Craig Carton believes Miami can go into Arrowhead and knock off the defending Super Bowl Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs.
“Can Miami go into Kansas City and beat the Kansas City Chiefs?” Carton said. “Yes. They. Can. And I think they will.”

That’s a bold statement for sure, especially considering how equally inconsistent the Dolphins have been this season – especially on the road.
But the Chiefs have their own problems, particularly in the passing game with drops by wide receivers.
However, Kansas City did get the better of Miami the last time these two teams played in Germany back in Week 9 when the Chiefs won 21-14.
The big talking point for this rematch will be the return of Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill to Kansas City, where he played his first six seasons.
So between the Dolphins’ quest for revenge and Hill’s return to KC, there is a lot more at stake than just a trip to the divisional round of the playoffs.
And Carton believes the Dolphins have what it takes to pull off the victory on the road.
