The Seattle Seahawks are officially on the hunt for a new head coach.

Pete Carroll has officially announced that he will leave his current post for a new role within the organization.

This is the end of an era for a Seahawks team that has significantly benefitted from having Carroll lead their organization.

The fanbase will miss him, the current roster, and the countless players he impacted throughout his career.

Richard Sherman discussed Carroll’s impact in a recent conversation on “The Volume.”

He called Carroll “the greatest Seahawks coach of all-time,” adding, “We did a lot of special things during my time there.”

Sherman believes Carroll has done far more good than bad for this team and was the right person to lead them.

He also mentioned Carroll’s ability to enact a winning culture and that he was a big advocate for the city of Seattle.

Whoever fills Carroll’s role will have big shoes to fill.

When a coach leaves their job after spending more than ten years in the same role, it can be difficult for fans and players to buy into their replacement.

Depending on who the Seahawks bring in to replace Carroll, this organization could experience some growing pains in their first season without him.

The Seahawks narrowly missed the playoffs this year, and that was with Carroll at the helm.

Their roster is slated to undergo several significant changes throughout the offseason, which could be challenging for a new coach to step into in their first season.
