For years, Jim Harbaugh has been tied to most head coaching vacancies in the National Football League.
The veteran coach shocked many people when he left the league to go back to coach his Alma Mater.
And just when it seemed like he was ready to go back to the pros, Michigan insider John U. Bacon made the fans put the brakes on that.
“After talking with people who know more than I do, I believe Jim Harbaugh genuinely wants to stay at Michigan,” Bacon said.
After talking with people who know more than I do, I believe Jim Harbaugh genuinely wants to stay at Michigan. He just “wants to know he’s wanted,” several told me, and it’s not about the number. (He gave back $1.5M to department employees to compensate for Covid cutbacks.)

Per Bacon, people close to the situation believe Harbaugh legitimately wants to stay with the Wolverines.
The report states that he just ‘wants to know they want him there,’ adding that it’s not about money.
Jim Harbaugh lives for Michigan; that’s just in his DNA, so this makes sense.
He played there, and even though he struggled early in his tenure, he’s taken them back to the mountaintop of the college football scene.
The Wolverines would love to keep him around, and they’re making efforts to get him to sign a new contract amid all the NFL interest, specifically from the Los Angeles Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Washington Commanders.
Harbaugh was suspended last season, with some thinking he could be looking at another suspension if he decides to stay.
Then again, it seems like none of that matters at this point.
His heart could be in Ann Arbor, and might take more than expected to get him back to the NFL.
