The Los Angeles Lakers had the perfect chance to improve their record against the Utah Jazz during their recent matchup in the 2023-24 NBA season.

Considering the final score stood at 132-125 in favor of the Utah Jazz, the game could have very easily gone either way.

In fact, if it weren’t for Anthony Davis’ poor shooting night from the floor, the Lakers might have won the game against the Jazz.

However, Davis didn’t run away from taking responsibility for the Purple and Gold’s loss, as revealed via Spectrum SportsNet on Twitter.

“Everyone did their job, except me… This one’s on me,” Davis said.

Anthony Davis has been incredible for the Los Angeles Lakers for most part of the season.

However, it’s only natural for the 2020 NBA champion to have a few off nights.

Speaking of his performance against the Jazz, Davis had 15 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists for the Lakers in 39 minutes of playing time.

Although Davis had a triple-double during the game, he had an unexpectedly poor shooting performance from the floor.

To be precise, Davis shot 5-of-21 from the field, including 0-of-1 from the three-point line.

On a positive note, Davis played well on the defensive end of the floor, as he had 1 steal and 4 blocks to his name.

At the end of the day, the Lakers still lost the game and now have a 19-21 record.
