The Dallas Cowboys suffered arguably the worst postseason loss in franchise history.
The final score didn’t reflect how lopsided this game was, and neither did Dak Prescott’s final stats.
This was a blowout from start to finish, and judging by all the rumors about Mike McCarthy’s continuity with the team, it’s hard to envision him staying for next season.
When asked about that, team owner Jerry Jones, who was evidently livid about the result, stated that he’s not too worried about the way he’ll handle the situation, adding that he has ‘plenty of experience’ dealing with what happens after a playoff loss (Via Jon Machota):
“We certainly have a background in what happens after you lose a playoff game. We got too much experience with that,” Jones said.

Jones also referred to the fact that multiple teams were already interviewing coaches and assistants for potential vacancies, but he didn’t seem too worried about that, either:
“That’s no issue,” Jones said. “At all. The fact that coaches have interviewed, not interviewed, there’s 30-some coaches (in the NFL) on 32 teams, so there’s a thousand coaches out there that are some way or the other, and that’s just the ones in the league. There are a lot of coaches.
DC Dan Quinn could be on his way out of Arlington as well.
He’s been highly coveted for quite a while now, which isn’t much of a surprise if you consider his experience and how he thrived in Dallas.
Even so, after watching that stellar defense allow 48 points at home in the most crucial game of the season, perhaps other teams could have second thoughts on that matter.
The Cowboys had everything in their power to make a Super Bowl run this season, from the home-field advantage in the first two games to the personnel.
This meltdown will be tough to stomach and impossible to forget.
