Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh will be one of the most sought-after NFL coaching candidates this offseason if he decides to leave the college ranks.

He just won a national championship and his stock has never been higher, so it makes sense that he would strike while the iron is hot and return to the NFL as a head coach.

While several teams could be interested in Harbaugh, former Tennessee Titans and Michigan offensive lineman Taylor Lewan said on FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams” show Monday that Harbaugh should take the Los Angeles Chargers job if he’s interested in coaching in the NFL again.

“The Chargers kind of have all the tools that Jim needs to work with to start a quick garden to grow his plants the way he wants,” Lewan said. “… For me, that’s just a more enticing job.”

As Lewan mentioned, the Chargers already have a lot of exciting pieces on both sides of the ball, led by quarterback Justin Herbert and defensive stars like pass rusher Joey Bosa and safety Derwin James.

The Chargers offer a homecoming of sorts for Harbaugh as well, as he’s coached two college teams in the state of California – San Diego and Stanford – and one NFL team – the San Francisco 49ers.

Harbaugh led the 49ers to the Super Bowl in his second of four years with the team in 2012, though he parted ways with San Francisco after the 2014 season after reportedly butting heads with management.

What comes next for Harbaugh will be his decision, but he will certainly be one of the most-talked about candidates all offseason.
