The Dallas Cowboys pretty much imploded right before our very eyes.
The most dominant home team in the NFL did not look good against the Green Bay Packers, and the fallout and ripple effect might go way beyond the final score.
Mike McCarthy could be out as head coach next season, and Dan Quinn’s future has been questioned.
The defensive coordinator had been tied to a head coaching job for years now, which is far from surprising, as he already had head coaching experience and did an outstanding job in three years in Arlington.
Then again, after watching him crumble under pressure — again — and the way his defense just collapsed, NFL analyst Craig Carton thinks he can kiss that opportunity goodbye.
Talking on The Carton Show, Carton stated that Quinn lost his chance to become a head coach after that loss, although he does think he’s going to land another job as a defensive coordinator somewhere else:
“Dan Quinn will not be with the Dallas Cowboys next year, and he’s not gonna be a head coach; he’s gonna be a DC somewhere else,” Carton said.

The Cowboys could lean towards cleaning house after that meltdown, and it would be hard to blame them.
For the first time in years, it just seemed like they had everything they needed to make a deep postseason run, and that win against the Packers seemed almost like a lock.
The franchise continues to underperform in the playoffs year after year, and it’ll be very difficult to get past what happened on Sunday night.
Notably, Quinn might not even get the chance to try to do so, but he shouldn’t be out of a job for long.
