The Golden State Warriors were one of the best teams in the NBA for a decade or so.

The Warriors won four NBA titles behind the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

Although the Warriors most recently won the 2022 NBA Championship, it’s more than obvious that the current roster of the team is no longer capable of leading the franchise to more titles.

After all, the Warriors have struggled to win games throughout the 2023-24 NBA season.

Keeping that in mind, former NBA player-turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins believes it’s time for the current core of the Warriors to break up, as revealed via NBA on ESPN on Twitter.

“Business and feelings don’t mix … it’s time to break it up,” Perkins said.

The current core of the Warriors have spent their entire career with the team.

It’s only obvious that they are more than teammates in many ways, and breaking up the core will be extremely hard for the front office.

However, Perkins pointed out that the Warriors shouldn’t mix feelings with the business aspect of running a successful organization.

Considering how the Warriors have struggled this season, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the front office decides to finally put an end to the current core of the team.

While Stephen Curry is still one of the best players in the NBA, the same cannot be said for Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

Keeping that in mind, the Warriors could trade away their two veterans in the summer of 2024.

After all, the Warriors are currently the 12th seed in the Western Conference with an abysmal 18-22 record this season.
