A clash of titans will unfold Sunday in the NFL divisional round finale as the Kansas City Chiefs travel to take on the Buffalo Bills.
Both sides have faced off in the postseason recently, with the Chiefs taking the past two games.
Through it all, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Bills quarterback Josh Allen have built a solid level of mutual respect between themselves, and now they’ll duke it out on the gridiron against their respective defenses.
Mahomes revealed Wednesday that his admiration for Allen is just another element to their competitive spirits that make this rivalry so much fun to watch on the field.
“Josh [Allen] is a great dude. I respect the way he plays football and just the guy that he is,” Mahomes said, via AtoZSports’ Charles Goldman. “When two ultra-competitive guys who are friends off the field go up against each other, we obviously want to win because we want to have a little bit of those bragging rights when we see each other in the offseason.”

The last time these two faced off, Allen got the better of Mahomes in a tight 20-17 win in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 14.
This time around, the Bills will host the Chiefs with an AFC championship game berth on the line against either the Houston Texans or Baltimore Ravens.
Mahomes’ legacy is surely intact after two Super Bowl rings, but Allen would like another crack at least making the Super Bowl after years of frustrating postseason losses.
