During Wednesday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers scored 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists.

This was just his latest strong game and many people have been wowed by what they’ve seen from Davis in 2023-24.

Speaking on “Nightcap,” Shannon Sharpe said this is the version of Davis that he’s been waiting for.

“This is the Anthony Davis that we need to see,” Sharpe said to Gilbert Arenas.

Sharpe noted that Davis has stayed healthy all season long and has missed a very small number of games, which is a welcome change for fans of the team.

The numbers back up Sharpe’s claim.

Davis is averaging 25.2 points and 12.2 rebounds a game this season.

He is also putting up 2.5 blocks per game and is shooting 55.5% from the field.

He is also nailing 32.6% of his three-pointers, which is his highest percentage in years.

In many ways, Davis is playing like an All-Star again and fans are taking note.

The Lakers have had a plethora of problems this year but Davis hasn’t been one of them.

His first few games of the season had some people worried because of inconsistency issues that were popping up again.

But Davis quickly shook that off and has remained steadfast and reliable for weeks.

Despite this, the Lakers are still the tenth team in the West, far from where they want to be.

This shows that the problems for the team run deep and even if Davis is playing lights-out basketball, there are things that need to be adjusted.

For years, fans of the Lakers have been dreaming of a season when Davis is healthy and consistent.

He’s been delivering lately but the Lakers are still struggling, so what can the front office do to build a better team around Davis?
