The Detroit Lions have plenty of momentum building up as they beat the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round and now host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Divisional Round.
The Lions beat the Rams 24-23 in a thrilling game that featured several highlight moments, and now get to give their rabid fanbase something to really cheer about.
The offense has been clicking throughout the entire year, while the defense has been able to make timely plays.
Jared Goff has looked rejuvenated since being traded to the Lions and he’s got several quality weapons at his disposal in Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs, and David Montgomery.
However, Goff also has a reliable option in rookie tight end Sam LaPorta who had a historic season after breaking the rookie tight end record for receptions.
LaPorta suffered a knee injury in Week 18 that made him limited, but he is set to go for the game against the Buccaneers via Adam Schefter of ESPN.
“Lions’ TE Sam LaPorta officially is active for today’s game vs. the Buccaneers,” Schefter said.

LaPorta was able to suit up against the Rams and moved well enough despite the brace he wore on his knee.
The tight end quickly established himself as a reliable target for Goff because of his sure hands and after-the-catch ability and he should be busy against a Tampa Bay defense that often looks to guard outside the numbers.
The middle of the field is LaPorta’s domain and he should be able to rip off several big plays throughout the game.
