Mavericks Are Reportedly Interested In Wizards Veteran

With the NBA trade deadline right around the corner, the rumors around the league are starting to heat up in terms of what teams are serious about making moves and what star players could be headed elsewhere on or before February 8.

One team that could be interested in cleaning house of sorts is the Washington Wizards, with the 2023-24 NBA regular season not going as planned, as the team has won only one game in the last 10 and only seven total on the season thus far.

Only the Detroit Pistons have a worse record (4-38) in the Eastern Conference right now, as Washington hasn’t been able to figure it out after the team acquired star guard Jordan Poole from the Golden State Warriors in a blockbuster trade last summer.

The pairing of Poole and Kyle Kuzma was thought to be a high-scoring duo that would at least put the Wizards in the playoff conversation in the East, but that hasn’t been the case, and as a result, Kuzma could be traded before next month’s deadline.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Dallas Mavericks are reportedly interested in acquiring Kuzma in a deal via Legion Hoops.

Even though the Mavericks have played well this season, with the team currently six games above .500 (24-18) after passing the halfway point of the 2023-24 campaign, the team still seems to be missing something in order for this team to be mentioned in the same breath as the elite teams in the Western Conference.

Kuzma could be that missing piece to the puzzle, as he can come in and become the third option on the team behind superstars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
