The Buffalo Bills just suffered one of the most heartbreaking losses in franchise history, and that’s a lot to say for a franchise with a well-documented story of heartbreaking losses.

The words ‘wide’ and ‘right’ trigger bad memories with their fans, and rightfully so.

This was the best chance they had to finally get back at the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs, something they haven’t been able to do in the Patrick Mahomes era.

That’s why even staffers at Highmark Stadium may have been heartbroken, angry, and, in all honesty, a little salty.

According to Chiefs OT Donovan Smith, they decided to take it to the opposing players by shutting off the hot water in their locker room.

Damn caught a L and they shut our hot water off… smh its all good we got that Dub today #ChiefsKingdom

Smith mocked them and called them out on social media, stating that they still had to catch that loss and there was nothing they could do about that.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened in sports, nor will it be the last; that’s also a part of the game and why home-field advantage matters.

Most Chiefs players may have had to wait until getting back to the hotel before grabbing a quick shower, but they still had the smell of victory all over them.

As for the Bills and their fans, it may have been a tough ride back home in that blistering cold.

Better luck next year, Bills; you deserved better.
