The Chicago Bears will be under the microscope all offseason as they hold the No. 1 and No. 9 picks in the NFL Draft and still have young quarterback Justin Fields.

They’ll have to decide soon if they want to keep Fields and trade away the top pick to a quarterback-hungry team or trade Fields and draft someone like USC’s Caleb Williams or North Carolina’s Drake Maye with the first overall pick.

The answer to that question will reveal itself eventually, but FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer explained what he would do this offseason if he ran the Bears, via NFL on FOX Podcast.

“I would trade Justin Fields and draft Caleb Williams,” Glazer said.

This is what most pundits believe should and ultimately will be done in Chicago, as Williams looks more polished as a pass-first quarterback than Fields and also resets the rookie quarterback contract clock that is inching closer to extension time for Fields.

The Bears have been evaluating Fields for the past three years after they took him No. 11 in the 2021 draft, but current general manager Ryan Poles wasn’t the in control of the team’s roster for that decision and could want to bring in his own quarterback for the future.

Chicago will need to make a decision sooner rather than later with the draft just a few months away.
