After another epic showdown in the NFL playoffs, the Buffalo Bills once again came up short against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, with the defending Super Bowl champions coming out on top at Highmark Stadium and advancing to the AFC Championship Game yet again.
With the Bills’ season officially coming to an end, Buffalo has some big questions to answer when it comes to the team’s roster and who the franchise will make an effort to bring back for next season and beyond.
One of the notable players is wide receiver Gabe Davis, who has been vital to the team’s success over the past few years and was sorely missed in the Divisional Round of the postseason due to a knee injury.
Even though Davis appears to be open to returning to the Bills, he does seem a bit disappointed that the team didn’t contact him about signing a contract extension, according to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.
Gabe Davis when asked if the Bills are aware of where he is with free agency and if that’s his choice: “I mean, I think they know. Yeah, we’ve talked before.” https://t.co/qBpJ5U62pI

In 17 games during the 2023 NFL regular season, Davis caught 45 passes for 746 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns.
Even though Davis is not a star receiver like teammate Stefon Diggs, he is incredibly consistent, as he has caught seven touchdowns in all but one of the four seasons he’s played in Buffalo thus far, with the only exception being when he caught six touchdowns during the 2021 season.
Davis has caught at least 35 passes or more each season while racking up at least 549 receiving yards every year for the Bills in his four seasons in Buffalo.
He’s clearly a valuable asset to the Bills and their passing game, but he is replaceable, which makes his future in Buffalo uncertain.
