The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be one of the most active teams ahead of the trade deadline.

They’ve been tangled up in rumors with close to a dozen players now, which speaks volumes of how poorly this roster has been constructed.

The team could get desperate and look to make as many moves as possible, as they’ve already been rumored to be after Bruce Brown Jr., Malcolm Brogdon, Zach LaVine, Dejounte Murray, Trae Young, Donovan Mitchell, Dorian Finney-Smith, Royce O’Neal, Gary Trent Jr., Terry Rozier, and Jerami Grant.

Now, Dave McMenamin of ESPN adds yet another name to that potential list of trade targets: Andre Drummond (via NBA Central).

The Lakers have considered trading for Andre Drummond to potentially matchup vs Nikola Jokic in the playoffs, per @mcten

According to McMenamin, the Lakers are exploring some players who could come in handy for potential postseason matchups, which is why they believe Drummond could help them in a hypothetical matchup with the Denver Nuggets and their big frontcourt, which features Aaron Gordon and Nikola Jokic.

Notably, Drummond has never been known for his mobility or his defense, so this is a somewhat odd assessment, to say the least.

He’s a dominant rebounder and could help the Lakers prevent offensive boards and second-chance points, but he’s not much of an offensive threat at this point in his career.

Still, he shouldn’t be hard to get.

The Chicago Bulls continue to have Nikola Vucvic ahead of him in the pecking order and might not ask for much in return for his services.

Then again, it doesn’t seem like the Lakers have an actual plan in place.
