The Kansas City Chiefs are back in the AFC Championship Game.
People talked about their lack of offensive efficiency, their frustration, their subpar receiving corps, and whatnot, yet none of that mattered.
This time, however, they’re going to face their toughest challenge of the season to date.
Lamar Jackson is on pace to win his second MVP and the Baltimore Ravens have steamrolled past their opposition all year long, not to mention the fact that they’ll have to play them on the road.
With that in mind, HC Andy Reid talked about how his team needs to prepare to stop a ‘special’ quarterback like Jackson (via Around the NFL):
“You have to stay in your lanes; you have to stay disciplined with any quarterback that runs. Lamar is special, he’s fast and one of the faster guys on the field when it’s all said and done and he’s shifty,” Reid said. “This kid (Jackson), he throws it well, he throws it on the move well, runs the ball well so we’ve just got to stay on top of that part of it throughout practice this week and then during the game.”

Reid said that they have to do something somewhat similar to what they did with Josh Allen because he’s also a runner, but acknowledged that Jackson is shiftier and knows how to break secondary defenders’ ankles as well.
Allen rushed 12 times for 72 yards and two touchdowns in the AFC Divisional Round.
Jackson, on the other hand, is coming off rushing for ‘just’ 821 yards and five touchdowns, which is underwhelming by his standards.
Nonetheless, everybody knows he’s the best running quarterback in the league, and it’s not even close.
This is going to be a matchup for the ages, and it’ll be interesting to see what both defenses have prepared to try to contain these two future Hall of Famers.
