The Los Angeles Chargers are reportedly narrowing their search to Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t keeping an eye on other head coaching candidates as well.
Former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll (as well as former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel) are also reportedly on the Chargers’ radar before the team makes it’s final decision, according to Pro Football Talk.
We heard earlier today that Pete Carroll is making a push for the job. Mike Vrabel is also in the mix.

All reports indicate Harbaugh is the favorite to land the job after he led Michigan to a College Football Playoff championship, so this could all just be a ploy by the Chargers to entice Harbaugh to take the first deal they offer.
Whatever the case may be, Carroll’s reported interest all but confirms he wants to coach again in the NFL and not remain in his advisory role within the Seahawks organization.
Seattle relieved Carroll of his head coaching duties after the 2023 season following a year the Seahawks missed the playoffs but decided to keep him with the organization where he spent the past decade and a half.
But if another opportunity presents itself that Carroll likes, it sounds as if he’d be willing to jump at the chance to remain a head coach in the NFL rather than toil in the front office as a random advisor with no clear set of roles and responsibilities.
