In a shocking turn of events, the Milwaukee Bucks decided to make a decision that no one saw coming on Tuesday, with the team firing first-year head coach Adrian Griffin after a 30-13 start to the 2023-24 NBA regular season.

Even though there was some tension leading all the way back to when Terry Stotts left the team, it didn’t seem bad enough in Milwaukee for the team to make this kind of drastic change at the halfway point of the season while being in second place in the Eastern Conference.

Regardless of where the team is in the standings and its record, the Bucks felt that a move had to be made to part ways with Griffin and start fresh with a new leader on the sideline.

With the Bucks’ head coaching position obviously being as desirable as they come, Milwaukee will have no shortage of interested parties, but one big-name coach who has not coached a game this season continues to pop up as the best option for this star-studded team.

According to former NBA player turned ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins, the Bucks should pursue Doc Rivers, via NBA on ESPN.

With Rivers only a few months off the job after being fired by the Philadelphia 76ers over the summer in favor of Nick Nurse, he’s likely ready and able to take over one of the better coaching jobs in the league.

Even though Rivers has been working for ESPN and has seemingly enjoyed stepping away from coaching for the time being, the opportunity to take over a win-now team led by superstars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard may be too good to pass up.
