The Kansas City Chiefs had a down year by their standards.
Yet, here they are, one win away from making it to their fourth Super Bowl in the past six seasons.
That speaks volumes about Andy Reid’s great job leading this team, but it’s also a testament to Patrick Mahomes’ stellar play.
That’s why NFL analyst Joy Talyor believes Mahomes has the most to gain in the AFC Championship Game.
Talking on FS1’s Speak, Taylor explained that Mahomes has already established himself as one of the greatest ever.
“We’re talking about the margin of being spoken about as one of the greatest,” Taylor said.

Nonetheless, he’s still a ways away from Tom Brady, who most people would agree is the best to ever do it.
That’s why adding more Super Bowl trips would continue to build up his résumé.
She adds that Mahomes needs to catch Joe Montana first before even thinking of going after Tom Brady, which is why every single thing he accomplishes every year matters.
Taylor explained that one of the things that made Brady the GOAT was his consistency, and it doesn’t get any more consistent than Mahomes, who has made it to the AFC Championship Game six times in as many years as a starter.
Mahomes is 13-3 in his career in the playoffs, with those losses coming at the hands of Tom Brady (2) and Joe Burrow.
Needless to say, making it to the last game of the season four times before even turning 30 would put Mahomes on the right path to take down every single player who came before him, Brady included.
