The Philadelphia Eagles could be without one of their most important players, at least on the field.
The fans sounded all of the alarms as soon as the season ended, as future Hall of Famer Jason Kelce hinted at walking away from the game.
Some had already speculated about Kelce’s retirement after their Super Bowl loss last season, but he came back and had another All-Pro-caliber campaign this year.
Then again, Kelce later admitted that one should never make such a decision in the heat of the moment, saying that he’s, indeed, going to consider retirement, but he wouldn’t announce it like that out of respect for multiple people.
Now, it seems like the legendary center isn’t ready to ride into the sunset just yet.
Talking to Oliva Reiner, he talked about the desire to prove the doubters wrong, especially now that HC Nick Sirianni has made some big hires to his coaching staff.
He admitted that the end of the season was quite disappointing, and then hinted at staying with the organization in any capacity, even if it’s not as a player (via Jake Rabadi):
“And I don’t know what’s going to happen for me,” Kelce admitted. “But I do know, I still want to be involved in the organization and still want to be a part of it, regardless of what the decision is,” Kelce said.

That didn’t sound like a player who’s ready to just call it quits and retire.
And while he’s not getting any younger, he was the same warrior of old in 2023, not missing a single snap and anchoring one of the best — if not the best — offensive lines in the game.
So, worry not, Eagles fans, your leader and future Hall of Famer might not be going anywhere.
